To say that Eyes That See In The Dark was a critical and commercial success is to be the master of understatement. In fact, its best known song, Islands In The Stream, was a chart topper on both the country and pop charts for Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton, and is the best selling single of all time. Interestingly, it was originally written to be an R&B tune!
The Gibb brothers have long dabbled in country music (besides Islands, their most famous country cover is arguably Conway Twitty's version of Rest Your Love On Me) and Eyes represents the peak of their form. It features Barry doing backing vocals on every song, and the Gatlin brothers on Buried Treasure. If you think you don't like country music, you just might change your mind after hearing this album.
